Southington Public Schools and Integrated Preschool Program

The Southington Public School District has 8 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 1 high school and an alternative high school.
To determine which school your child will attend visit the school/street directory at https://www.southingtonschools.org/school-zone-directory.

The Integrated Preschool Program, which has approximately 50% typically developing children who serve as peer models for the students who require special education, meets at Wrinn Preschool Center at Hatton Elementary School (3 classrooms) and Strong Elementary School (1 classroom).
The Integrated Preschool Program of Southington Public Schools provides quality preschool center-based activities to three and four-year-old children in Southington.  A portion of enrolled students are typically developing children who serve as peer models for students who require special education.  The preschool staff use the Early Learning and Development Standards to prepare children for kindergarten. Through developmentally appropriate play, language experiences are nurtured to foster independence, increase self-esteem, and maximize learning in a positive, encouraging environment.

Open House or tours:  Available upon request to the Special Education Coordinator.

Session days/times:
Hatton AM Session runs from 8:35 AM to 11:15 AM
Strong AM Session runs from 9:05 AM – 11:45 AM

Preschool registration occurs late spring and parents will be notified how to register online once their child has been accepted into the program. Community peers are charged a non-refundable acceptance fee of $25 annually in addition to a tuition fee (which is comparable to the other nursery schools in town).   Registration forms, including a record of required immunizations, will be necessary for those students accepted into the program as a community peer.

Returning students will be sent a renewal form.

Parents will be notified by mail in August of the child’s teacher, start date, and days per week.
